[France pushes photovoltaics]

France wants to up its 2013 installation target for PV to at least 1,000 MW. This figure is twice the goal of the former government as envisaged by its Environment Round Table of 500 MW of new PV installations annually. Delphine Batho, the French Minister of Ecology, Energy and Sustainable Development, introduced a set of measures designed to jump-start the expansion of PV on 7 January.
The incentives system for small roof systems up to 100 kW in capacity will be simplified. The building use is no longer a factor in the calculation of the tariff. The goal for this segment is 400 MW. The tariff for systems with simple building integration will be increased by 5%. The most notable change to the system is a bonus of up to 10% depending on provenance of the modules used.
